Time to treatment is a critical factor in survival from massive hemorrhage injuries sustained in an active shooter incident. The
Classroom Critical Incident Response Kit (CCIRK)
was created to enable immediate treatment without the delay and risk of moving through the school while an active shooter incident is in progress. Centralized medical kits require staff and students to move through the building to locate and then distribute medical supplies. This not only consumes precious time, it greatly increases exposure to the risk of confrontation with a shooter. Once located, the centralized supplies still have to be distributed throughout the building to casualties whose immediate location may not be known. Providing kits at the classroom level greatly mitigates these concerns.
The CCIRK is a
classroom
based medical response system that distributes the critical supplies needed for treatment throughout the school for rapid and safe access. Rescue Essentials provides a free training kit with the purchase of every ten CCIRK's. Inside each CCIRK are the supplies needed to treat life threatening hemorrhage and respiratory injury from GSW or other penetrating trauma.
