    Description

    Just past the 25th anniversary of the railroads' AEI implementation, this is an Amtech AT5541 railway Automatic Equipment Identification [AEI] Radio Frequency Tag.
    Also included is a
    plastic cover to attach it and an adhesive pad [not shown] to attach the tag / transponder to the cover.
    This radio frequency AEI tag model was used on railroad End of Train devices beginning in the early 1990s.  A close precursor to EZ Pass.
    This tag has the original seal without a plug, and the battery may be dead by now. Essentially new old stock; this unusual item is offered for Collectible Value only.
