    Description

Here is an early B&D SilverBell number one Plectrum banjo. This is the first version of the SilverBell line that has the round hole flange. This is a four string plectrum banjo, not a 5 string. The banjo is roughly 100 years old so it does have it's bumps and scrapes. The neck on the banjo is still straight with no bow or twist, The neck angle is perfect with nice low string action. The neck plays great with no fretting out. The frets are OK but larger frets would make this play better. The tuners are the original friction tuners that tend to make it hard to tune. The rim has a couple of holes on one side as shown in a picture. Also there is 1/4 inch jack installed on the side but the pickup is long gone. The thumb screws that hold on the resonator are newer and the resonator fits a little loose. The case that comes with the banjo is a newer one. With all the issues the banjo still plays and sounds good. With a little work this could be a really nice banjo. Shipping on this banjo is .00 dollars in the lower 48 states.
