C.1897 SSStewart Special Thoroughbred Vintage Antique 5 String Banjo.
Good condition overall.It is 95 percent complete with 4 nuts and one shoe stud not matching.The tailpiece is a fine Mark Ralston reproduction,true to the original "Improved" Stewart piece.The neck shows the original 0 degree set with perhaps 1/16 relief.There may be a slight 1/16 twist into the hand at the peghead that makes it a bit more comfortable to play.No fretboard wear I can see,all MOP inlays intact and in the proper positioning on the fretboard.I believe the tuners to be original. Renaissance head and new nylon strings.About 1/4 action at the twelfth fret.All MOP intact on peghead however an older repair could use a bit of fill touchup.This banjo is ripe for a full restoration which could greatly increase its value if done with appropriate care.An icon of the golden age of historic banjos.Comes with Superior hardshell case.
