Harmony Closed Back Tenor Banjo vintage circa 1960s Natural / bakelite

  • Condition: HARMONY 60s/70s short scale 4 string tenor banjo w/ohscCool old piece with super narrow neck. Though I chose poor for condition, I'd say closer to fair or good overall. Just being conservative. Original chipboard hard case in pretty good shape. I kind of did a quick fix on the pocket section and knocked some staples back in, and super glued the lid to pocket back in place. I put 2 new strings on this Banjo and I have it tuned to what youtube was calling the Irish tuning. This is functional, but has the following issues.1) The Tail piece, I believe, is missing a part where it protrudes out from the lower bout. This has 6 loop hooks, so I don't know that it is original, since only 4 loop hooks are needed.2) One tension rod is missing and it looks like 1 or 2 might be replaced/non original.3) The "bakelight" tone resonator is in good shape, but does have one crack on treble side of neck slot that goes from edge about half way in to the screw. HARMONY 60s/70s short scale 4 string tenor banjo w/ohsc
Cool old piece with super narrow neck. This is functional, but has the following issues.
    1) The Tail piece, I believe, is missing a part where it protrudes out from the lower bout. This has 6 loop hooks, so I don't know that it is original, since only 4 loop hooks are needed.
    2) One tension rod is missing and it looks like 1 or 2 might be replaced/non original.
    3) The "bakelight" tone resonator is in good shape, but does have one crack on treble side of neck slot that goes from edge about half way in to the screw. (see photo 6) At first I did not notice and thought it was perfect, but I was wrong. Just saying it's not real bad or big at this point.
Many pieces that have this material with age on them, have crack issues. This rare jewel Needs some TLC to be a player practical everyday player. Possibly a better old studio piece than live piece. If you want a NARROW neck, you'll like this one. This vintage Banjo Needs a go
od home, and otherwise sold as listed, as mentioned, as is. Thanks, and let me know if you got questions after viewing the pics. Frazie
