Growing up in Chicago, I remember this item just hanging out in my dad's basement home bar room. I want to say that I recall him saying that it was left in the house by the previous owner when my parents purchased the building. They purchased that home in 1968 ... so who knows how long this instrument had been in existence prior to that. None of us were particularly musically inclined so no beautiful sounds came from us as we plucked around on the strings haphazardly here and there.
Fast forward to now. Dad is no longer with us and it falls upon me to clean out the decades of treasures from his life. For some reason, this banjo, though never actually played with any purpose in our family made the journey all the way until the end. It is now time to move it on. Perhaps someone can use it for parts. Or maybe even refurbish it?  In any case, I am selling it totally AS IS. What you see is what you get. No surprises. It coudl be a hidden treasure that we never realized its worth. Or it could simply be trash. But you know the saying: "One person's trash is another's treasure?" Could this be the treasure for which you are searching?

An old banjo. an old dusty banjo that needs some TLC.
According to my measurements, it's approximately 22" long and about 7 3/4" across at its widest point.
I'm not seeing any sort of name on it so have no clue who the maker is or was.
It clearly does need some "work" and/or can perhaps be salvaged for parts. The possibilities are yours to explore as once again I say: I am

We had fun goofing around with it as kids so now it's your turn to do something with it.
We are a SMOKE-FREE and PET-FREE household & all clothing is washed in allergen-free detergent. I continue to list additional items when I find the time.

Barring any crazy weather/hazardous driving situation, I ship as quickly as possible after receipt of cleared payment.

I respectfully ask you to realize that while I get your item packaged & off to the Post Office as quickly as humanly possible, I obviously do NOT have any control of how they handle it from there.  After I drop it off at the Post Office, the transit time is in the hands of the trusty Postal Service. They're generally quite efficient but do encounter some delays at times.
Postal rates keep increasing (obviously out of my control) & I carefully weigh the items prior to listing so that there are no surprises when it comes to shipping costs. I do include a very nominal charge to cover my packaging/printing materials. While I realize that you are looking for bargains, I too need to be able to cover my expenses.
