    Rare Stromberg-Voisinet original 5-string banjo - 1920s, Very Good, Hard Case.
    Please bare with me as I attempt to provide you with an accurate description.
    I believe this to be an original 5 string Stromberg-Voisinet banjo, Despite the fact that the 5th tuner is black and not pearloid like the tuners on the head stock. Maybe the 5th peg is a replacement (they are easily lost). Maybe they got it from the wrong parts bin at the factory.
    My guess it's all original. These S-V and Kay banjos are very difficult to date, but being an actual S-V, and not the later Kay, pretty much says it's from the 1920s or atleast before S-V started putting those big, heavy, cast flanges on their banjos.
    I believe the fretboard is made of maple, The inlays is mother of pearloid. Head appears to be sheep skin, The banjo in my opinion, is in very good condition considering it is possibly over 100 years old, it does have wear, dings and the likes. If I were a buyer and I dont mean to cut my own head off here, but I wouldnt buy this to play it, I think this Banjo is more suited for the collector. Just my 2 cents.
