Single PC Outdoor WiFi Range Booster for 5 Ghz Xfinity Comcast or Public Hotspot

In January 2021, Xfinity and other hotspot companies began rolling their service over to 5 Ghz-only. This means standard 2.4 Ghz WiFi products and boosters will no longer be able to connect to these hotspots.
ALFA Network has a solution with this ALFA Tube-UAC2 + 9 dBi antenna combo kit for outdoor use. This kit is designed to be mounted outside, as shown in image 1. Then you run the 16 foot USB cable back indoors to your computer (as shown in image 2) and this will boost the WiFi range of your PC to both Xfinity and other 5 Ghz hotspots, and is also backward compatible with 2.4 GHz networks.
This does not boost the WiFi reception to all of your devices inside the home such as TVs or second computers, tablets, or phones. It will boost the range just to the Microsoft Windows PC to which it is installed. However if you have Windows 10, you can turn on Mobile Hotspot feature to share your WiFi reception from the ALFA Tube-UAC2 to other nearby devices as your own private WiFi hotspot. In 2019, the number of RV parks and public networks offering 5 Ghz Wi-Fi has increased, and there are advantages of connecting to the less-trafficked 5 Ghz band. With Alfa Tube-UAC2 + 9 dBi antenna combo, you can get a range boost to both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. Note that because of FCC power restrictions on dual band radios, our long range single band USB clients like Alfa Tube-U(N)
may get stronger signal to 2.4 Ghz networks. If you are thinking about upgrading, the Tube-UAC2 offers faster connections to 802.11ac and 5 Ghz networks but may have lesser signal to 2.4 Ghz networks compared to Tube-U(N).
This special kit comes with the
Alfa AOA-2458-79AM
antenna. If you already have a compatible antenna or wish to purchase another model, you can buy the base retail Tube-UAC2 package here which does not come with an antenna. Note the Tube-UAC2 is NOT compatible with the Alfa WiFi Camp Pro 2 antenna. That antenna has a different connector and is also not dual band capable.
R36A support may be coming in the future but is not here yet. At this time, Tube-UAC2 can only be used directly plugged into the USB port on a Microsoft Windows computer and will boost the range just to that specific PC. However you can use Windows 10 Mobile Hotspot
feature to create a hotspot and share your Alfa Tube-UAC2 connection from your PC to nearby devices (requires your PC has a built-in WiFi card also).
Tube-UAC2 is light-weight and easy to mount (
it is 4.5 ounces and just over 6.5 inches tall
). Simply use the two included mounting ties to fasten it to almost any type of infrastructure.

Alfa Tube-UAC2 easily fastens to your boat or RV, or an outdoor pole or post. It has weatherproof casing and it comes with a special shielded 5 meter (16 feet) USB cable that is designed to prevent against power loss. This allows you to mount this item further away from where you will be using your computer. You can connect any type of antenna to this product that has an N-male connector on it (the Tube-UAC2 comes with a N-female connector, which is different from previous generation Tube models). We also sell pigtails and converters if you already own an outdoor antenna with a different connector type.
