WMWC 1674 or WM940902 BIG HOOK, Hooks.
These Three Very Large Hooks are all that remains from this Old Western Maryland Railroad BIG HOOK CRANE Built 12/45 as a steam crane Original unit number was WM 1674
WM940902 I think was assigned when it was dieselized in 8/55 by LB Smith
I purchased the crane from CSX in 1990. (A copy of the sales order is part of the sale).
After trying to find a home for this 150 ton crane I was forced to scrap most of the crane in 1993.
I have enclosed a photo of the crane just before we recycled it. . You can see the little hook in the photo. I have also included a copy of the Umber print out on the crane.
The BIG HOOK and BLOCK are 7 foot long, 32 inches side and 36 inches high and weighs in at 4040 lbs. It has MAGNAFLUX and 115114AA cast in the hook.
The LONG HOOK is 58 inches long, 36 inches wide and 8 inches thick weighing in at 1480. This is a spare and longer hook for the other block.
The LITTLE HOOK is 5 foot long, 3 foot high and 3 foot wide, weighing in at 1860 lbs
I am selling these hooks FOB Cumberland Md. 21502. Loaded on your transportation. I will provide the winning bidder copies of all the paper work I have on this big old workhorse.
